Ernest Cole: Lost And Found

From the host

As written on Meetup.

Directed by Raoul Peck

Starring: LaKeith Stanfield

Run time: 1 hour and 45 minutes

Photographer Ernest Cole’s harrowing images were the first to reveal the brutal realities of apartheid in the late 1960s, leading to his exile to New York. Despite falling into obscurity in the 1980s, his legacy was revived in 2017 with the discovery of 60,000 of his negatives. “Ernest Cole: Lost and Found” is a powerful documentary by Raoul Peck that explores Cole’s life, his artistic turmoil, and the ongoing relevance of his work.

The film is in English, with Dutch subtitles.
