Terms

A film group, not a shop, run by volunteers.

The site is free. It sells nothing, earns nothing, and helps you find films to see together. These are the few rules that come with it.

Last updated 9 October 2026.

Who runs the site

afig.nl is run by volunteers of AFiG: Amsterdam Film Group, a film group in Amsterdam. Its organizer, Juan Mauricio Torres Perez, is responsible for it. Write to juanma71298@gmail.com about anything on this page.

Check before you go

The events come from the group's page on Meetup, the screenings from the cinemas' own websites, read once a day, and the film details from TMDB. We take care to show only what we can read reliably, but cinemas change times, rooms and languages, events move or are cancelled, and a detail can be out of date or wrong. So we can't promise that everything on the site is complete or correct.

Before you buy a ticket or set out, check the cinema's own page, and the event on Meetup if you're going with the group.

No tickets, no money

  • We don't sell, buy or reserve tickets. A ticket link takes you to the cinema, and what you pay goes to them.
  • AFiG earns nothing from the site or from anything you buy: no advertising, no commission, no paid links.
  • No cinema, distributor or other company sponsors the site or pays to be on it. If this ever changes, this page will say so first.

Your account, and what you write

An account is free and yours alone; don't share it. What you send stays yours: you let us show it on the site for as long as it's there. A line on an evening you rated is public, with your first name; a recommendation is seen only by the hosts. What we keep about it, and for how long, is in our privacy notice.

Write about the film or the evening, and keep it friendly. Don't post:

  • insults, harassment or discrimination;
  • other people's personal details, such as a phone number, or a member's name without their consent;
  • advertising, spam, or links to sell something;
  • anything illegal, or someone else's text beyond a short quote.

The hosts can hide or remove anything that breaks these rules, and close an account that keeps breaking them. If you see something that shouldn't be there, write to juanma71298@gmail.com.

Other sites

We link to Meetup, the cinemas, TMDB, Letterboxd, IMDb and others. They have their own terms, and we aren't responsible for what they show or sell. Film data and images come from TMDB (see About), and event pictures from the group's hosts on Meetup.

Please don't copy the site's listings in bulk, by script or otherwise: much of it is other people's data, which we may use only for the group.

If something goes wrong

The site is offered free and as it is, by volunteers. We aren't liable for a loss that comes from using it, such as a screening missed because a time had changed, except where the law doesn't allow that to be limited, as with intent or gross negligence. Nothing here takes away your rights as a consumer.

Changes, and the law

We may change these terms as the site changes; the date at the top says when they last did. Dutch law applies. Questions: juanma71298@gmail.com.
