Year: 1973

Based on a true story, in early 1970s New York, police officer Frank Serpico stands out as one of the few who refuses to take part in the widespread corruption around him. As he pushes deeper into uncovering unethical behavior among fellow officers, he finds himself increasingly isolated within the department. The resistance he encounters only strengthens his determination to expose the truth. Realizing that internal channels will not stop the misconduct, he ultimately decides to take his evidence to the press. His choice marks a turning point that puts both his career and his safety at risk while shining a harsh light on systemic corruption.
