Following the recent passing of Marjane Satrapi, this screening offers an opportunity to experience one of her most celebrated works and reflect on the legacy of a writer, artist, and filmmaker whose voice resonated with audiences around the world.

Based on Marjane Satrapi's acclaimed graphic memoir, *Persepolis* tells the story of a young girl growing up in Iran during and after the Islamic Revolution. Through Marjane's eyes, the film explores family, identity, politics, and the challenges of coming of age in a rapidly changing world.
Told through beautiful black-and-white animation, the film balances humor, warmth, and personal reflection with larger historical events. Rather than focusing solely on politics, *Persepolis* is ultimately a deeply human story about finding your place in the world while navigating different cultures and expectations.
Winner of the Jury Prize at Cannes and nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, *Persepolis* remains one of the most celebrated animated films of the 21st century.
