Year: 1996

A gay couple, a very conservative family, and one dinner party that is absolutely destined to go wrong. The Birdcage is a wonderfully chaotic comedy about family, identity, and the increasingly ridiculous lengths people will go to fit someone else’s idea of “normal.”
Robin Williams and Nathan Lane are at the centre of it, with Lane in particular delivering a gloriously over-the-top performance as Albert. Add Gene Hackman, Dianne Wiest and Hank Azaria to the mix, and you have a recipe for pure 90s comedy chaos.
Come join us for a big, silly, surprisingly warm night at the cinema — and prepare for things to get wonderfully out of hand. 🦜
