Naza
From the Oscar-winning filmmakers behind No Other Land comes Naza, a powerful investigative documentary examining the military systems and decision-making processes behind the devastating civilian casualties in Gaza. Through intimate testimonies and unprecedented access, the film explores how decisions about life and death are made far from the battlefield, raising urgent questions about accountability, morality, and the human cost of war.
On the rooftops of Tel Aviv, Israeli soldiers and intelligence officers engage in secret nighttime conversations, revealing how military targets are identified, how intelligence and surveillance technologies are used, and how the potential loss of civilian lives is calculated before an attack. Their accounts expose a disturbing reality in which complex military procedures can reduce human lives to numbers and statistical assessments.
The title Naza refers to Nezek Agavi, a Hebrew term associated with collateral damage. Through these personal accounts, directors Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor examine the mechanisms that allow extraordinary levels of civilian suffering to become normalized within military operations. Rather than relying on conventional battlefield footage, the documentary focuses on the individuals, technologies, and institutional structures behind decisions with devastating consequences.
Awarded the Special Jury Prize at the 2026 Venice Film Festival, Naza continues the filmmakers' commitment to investigative storytelling and examining the Israeli-Palestinian conflict from deeply personal and challenging perspectives. Unsettling, thought-provoking, and politically urgent, the documentary invites audiences to reflect on the relationship between military power, individual responsibility, and the value of human life.

The film is in Hebrew and English with English subtitles.
